Some Housekeeping

This website, MatthewDuclos.com, has been a great resource for cinematographers since 2009. Originally started as a personal blog to serve as a dumping ground for answers to common questions, it continuously evolved into much more. The content expanded from simple thoughts on the motion picture lens industry, to in-depth tutorials, to featurettes with some of the industry’s biggest lens manufacturers. In order to continue providing relevant, timely content, we’re making a few changes around here. All for the better!

Most obvious is the change of name. We’ve always liked “Circle of Confusion” because, you know… lenses. But we never could secure the URL. To keep things easy and focused, we’re rebranding the blog to The Cine Lens with matching URL. We’re expanding our crew to help keep things running smoothly and deliver more content on a regular basis. Matthew will remain the primary contributor, but expect to see more guest posts from industry professionals as well as up and coming cinematographers. We’ll be helping out our fellow blogs with some additional syndication from time to time. And of course, we’ll be doing our annual NAB coverage posts. So subscribe to the blog via email to make sure you’re taking advantage of all the new content we have coming soon.

Now for some of that housekeeping…

If you’re looking to have your lens related equipment reviewed or featured, be sure to send an email with details to gear@thecinelens.com.

If you’d like to be considered for one of our guest posts; perhaps you have a project coming up that will feature some interesting lenses, or want to share your experience with lens related content, drop us a note: guest@thecinelens.com.

And lastly, if there’s something you think we could do better to make this site more helpful or useful, you can email Aubrey, our new Editor in Chief: aubrey@thecinelens.com

We also want to give a huge thank you to all the subscribers and readers who frequent the site. Your feedback and encouragement over the years are what have kept the site going and given us the motivation to grow into what we are today.
