It’s been decades since Angenieux made a dedicated motion picture prime lens. Perhaps to make up for lost time, they’ve just announced quite an impressive roadmap… The brand new Optimo Primes feature full frame 46.5mm image circle coverage, a consistent T1.8 aperture throughout the set, and fully interchangeable mounts including LPL, XPL, PL, Canon EF, Nikon F, and Panavision.
The first six lenses scheduled for Fall 2020 delivery include 21mm, 28mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 135mm. The 12-lens set will include 18mm, 32mm, and 100mm delivering Winter 2020, followed by 24mm, 60mm, and 200mm to complete the set in Spring 2021.
